Attachment 1 - FREE safeguarding event- Everyone's Business-Bradford
Roadshow - 6.30 - 9pm, Thursday 21st February 2008
Safeguarding is more than just child protection. Event to consider
developing and implementing polices; safe recruitment and activities.
Contact Dionne Norman (details on flyer). Participants will receive a high
quality resource pack to support ongoing learning. Book early only 20
places available.
Attachment 2- CAF Training Dates (Free Training) - If you are a practitioner
working with children or young people this training could be for you. The
Common Assessment Framework (CAF) is a way of assessing needs, identifying
vulnerable children and helping to ensure adequate intervention and
prevention support is put in place. Contact CAF help desk for more details:

Attachment 3 - Playing our Part: 9.30 - 4pm, Thursday 21st February or
Friday 29th February 2008. A FREE one day course to help organisations
working with children get ready to tender by evidencing and evaluating the
outcomes of their work
Attachment 4 - Check It Out Training - 9.30 - 4pm, Tuesday 4 March or
Wednesday 12 March 2008. A FREE one day course to help you to produce a
practical evaluation strategy to evidence the impact of your work. This is
a stand alone course, but also an invaluable tool for anyone who has
attended the Playing our Part training. Contact Dionne Norman, Children &
Young People's VCS Network for more details. Participants will receive a
high quality resource pack to support ongoing learning. Book early only 20
places available per course.
Attachment 5 - The new bus timetable is out for the new bus service 629
Shipley to Bradford Royal Infirmary as from the 27th January 2008.
Attachment 6 - The SAFE Project is running pilot training sessions at
Manningham Mills aimed at New Arrivals (funded by CNet). The aim of the
Personal and Community 'Thinking SAFE' sessions, including get to know your
Bradford. I am holding a meeting at 11 Parkside Grove BD9 5LL on 1st
February at 1pm to put together the lesson plans and course content. Anyone
with an interest in our New Arrivals, particularly the Polish speakers, are
welcome to come along contribute to the meeting. We already have input from
the Police and Fire Service. We also need New Arrivals to attend the
course, so if you have clients, friends or neighbours that you think would
benefit please encourage them to get in touch with me. All details are on

Item 1 - Poverty Hearing - Bradford's poorest get their voices heard and
their opinions and experiences known at hearings with an MP and councillors,
Impressions Gallery, Centenary Square 11am - 12.30pm on 1st February. And
on Sunday 3rd February 6:30pm - 8pm at Holme Church, Broadstone Way, BD4 0JE
is the Poverty Action Week Service - Opening doors, Opening hearts.

Item 3 - Lapidus North Yorkshire - Next Meeting, 23rd February 2008: North
Yorkshire Lapidus is hosting a day workshop at the West Yorkshire Playhouse
in Leeds led by a team from Tonic, an arts in health programme which uses
the arts for the benefit of patients and staff in the Leeds Teaching
Hospitals NHS Trust. Includes a short introductory talk by Tonic staff
followed by writing and other exercises based on their practice. 23 February
2008, 11.00am – 4.30pm. £5 to be paid on the day. Please contact Anne Maney,
01937 843010 to say you are coming. Lapidus is a national organization
promoting healing and personal growth through writing and reading.
Yahoo group - We do have a yahoo group which could become a vibrant
discussion group! If you want to join, contact: LapidusNorthYorkshire

great if someone would be prepared to take a lead in creating and
maintaining discussions – some of which could, perhaps, then go on the web

Item 3 - B-FAB & ISBUK Band Pre-Valentine's Party. On Saturday, 9th
February, 6-12 midnight @ First Martyr's Church. Ticket are £7.00 with food
& £3.00 above 11 yrs old for kids & it is a LIVE! Filipino ISBUK BAND; they
won "Champion" in the Battle of the Band in Leeds last year & they are now
always invited to play in many parts of the UK. Everyone is welcome!
Please invite some Filipino friends in your area and meet Filipinos here in
Bradford. Don't worry you won't be out of place in our party & that is
